fried eggs with crispy feta


I first saw this idea on TikTok and I knew I needed to try it. I’m not usually one to try viral recipes as I’ve made a handful of them in the past and I quickly became disappointed with the end result. I often find that viral recipes are “over hyped”. This recipe on the other hand did not let me down. I made it three times in one week! The crispy and salty feta surrounding the egg had me hooked! Frying the feta makes it salty and crispy and it pairs perfectly with the fried egg. I don’t usually like trendy food but this one is a must try! Try it out for your next breakfast.

Ingredients
- 4 tbsp feta cheese
- 2 eggs
- Fresh dill to garnish
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Drizzle of oil (used to fry the eggs)
Directions
- Heat a fry pan to medium low heat. Add the olive oil and once the pan is hot, sprinkle in the feta. Let this fry for a few minutes or until it starts to turn slightly golden. Crack in the eggs. If the cheese is starting to get too golden turn the pan down. Cover with a lid and cook for a few minutes until the white of the egg is cooked but the yolk is runny. Serve on toasted bread with avocado.
