This sandwich is truly delicious and it’s one of my favorites. I’m a sweet and salty girl and this combination absolutely nails it. The crispy, buttery sourdough paired with the salty prosciutto and sweet honey is perfection.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of sourdough bread
  • 3-4 tbsp butter
  • ¼ cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated goat cheddar
  • ¼ of an apple sliced thin (any tart and firm apple will work well. I love using Northern Spy or Granny Smith).
  • 3 very thin slices of prosciutto di Parma
  • ½ tsp of fresh thyme
  • Honey to drizzle in the sandwich and outside once it’s done

Directions

  1. Butter the outside of your bread and season the outside with salt and pepper. A friend of mine showed me this in University and I have been making grilled cheeses and melts this way ever since! To the inside of your bread add a layer of the cheese mix, then the prosciutto followed by the apples. Add the remaining cheese and drizzle with honey.
  2. Heat a medium skillet to medium heat and add a small amount of butter to the skillet. Once hot, add the sandwich and cook on both sides until golden.
