When I first posted this video to my Instagram page it went viral within days! People really loved how simple it was to make and I received a lot of comments saying that I should try making a “ginger bug” which is essentially fermented ginger ale. I definitely need to try making that but this recipe is so simple and easy it will blow you away. Making your own ginger ale is so SIMPLE and uses minimal ingredients. It actually only takes 4 ingredients! Ginger ale from the store is loaded with sugar and preservatives! This version uses really ginger and is sweetened with maple syrup making it light and refreshing. I top mine off with sparkling mineral water and it doesn’t last too long in my fridge because everyone loves it so much!

Since it was blood orange season when I made this recipe, I thought that the blood orange juice would be a great compliment to the ginger ale. I’m so glad I added it because it added a subtle sweetness and really took this homemade ginger ale to the next level! This is by far one of my favourite homemade drinks! It comes together in minutes and it’s always a crowd favourite! I usually triple the recipe because it’s so refreshing and like I mentioned, it never lasts too long in the fridge. If you don’t have maple syrup on hand you could definitely swap it out and use honey instead! Let me know in the comments if you give this homemade ginger ale a try! It’s an easy diy recipe and you will fall in love with it!
